Passport
Japan does not accept individual applications, so you can only go to Taobao to find the nearest travel plan travel agency to apply. I was in Chengdu, so I found a Chongqing travel agency with a high reputation (send a visa to the Japanese consulate in Chongqing). Mail the necessary materials. It takes about 10~20 days to sign out.
You do not need to provide air tickets and hotels, and the travel agency will solve them. You just have to wait quietly for the sign-out.
Air Tickets
The food and service quality of ANA is very high. It is recommended to book air tickets for two months in advance. Search for dates before and after the planned travel time on the official website. There is a high probability that you can book round-trip air tickets at 30-50% off.
Hotel
Because Japanese homestays are not officially recognized, there is no guarantee for disputes in air BnB and other homestays. It is recommended to book the hotel on Booking. Japanese-style hotels (hotels with tatami floors in traditional Japanese style) often do not have private bathrooms and beds, so the price will be much cheaper. If you are looking for comfort, it is recommended to book a normal hotel. If you want to experience the Japanese folk style or like to live a group life with many foreigners, You can consider some youth hostels and Japanese-style hotels, it is not recommended to consider capsule hotels, the experience is very poor.

Phone Card
Taobao can buy very cheap Japanese 7-day 4G data cards. If travelling alone, it is much more convenient than portable wifi.
Subway ticket

Attraction tickets
Most outdoor attractions in Japan are free of money. Many sightseeing routes have cable cars and mountain trams that require tickets. It is recommended to check the Internet in advance to check whether there is a pass for the sightseeing ticket of the target city (for example, before I go to Hakone, I can buy a Hakone 2-day pass in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and can take all cable cars, trams, and other transportation methods, and visit all attractions free of charge). This will save a lot of money and save you the trouble of buying multiple tickets.
