Over time, there have been changes to the scheme.
The PM Kisan scheme was only available to marginal and small farmers with a minimum of 2 hectares when it was launched on February 24, 2019. On 1 June 2019, the scheme was amended to include all farmer households regardless of size. The scheme now allows farmers with more than one hectare of land to apply for benefits. The family will receive Rs 6000 per year in the form of a benefit, payable in three installments each of Rs 2000.
Financial assistance is now available under the PM Kisan scheme to farmer families that have a farm in their names. This means that those who have inherited ancestral land will no longer be eligible for the PM Kisan scheme. However, it will not affect any of the beneficiaries.
A benefit of Rs.6000 per family will be granted to eligible farmers if there are multiple farmer families living on a single holding. You will receive the benefit, regardless of whether the agricultural land is located in the village or the city.
What does the family mean in this scheme?
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme defines the farmer’s family as a husband, wife, and any minor children. Aadhaar numbers are now mandatory for the PM Kisan program. You will receive the benefit, regardless of whether the agricultural land is located in the village or the city.
Who can’t take advantage of this scheme?
A farmer who farms but the land isn’t in his name, but the grandfather or father of the farmer, will not be eligible for Rs 6000 per annum. The farmer should own the land.
Even if someone owns agricultural land, the benefit is not available if there is no agriculture activity.
Even if the land isn’t being used for cultivation, the benefit won’t be realized.
Renting land from another farmer to farm on is not a way for a farmer to reap the benefits of the scheme.
This scheme will not apply to all institutional landowners.
– Any farmer or his family member who has held or was elected to any constitutional office will not be eligible for the benefit.
The scheme is not available to employees of local authorities, state/central government employees, or retired employees of PSUs/PSEs or serving officers, or serving officers, or employees of Government Autonomous Bodies.
Ex-Minister/Minister of State, former or current Mayor, District Panchayat President or MLA, MLC Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha MP, or Former Minister/Minister or Minister of State are not eligible.
The scheme does not apply to professionals such as doctors, engineers, and CAs. It also does not apply to lawyers, even if they practice agriculture.
This benefit will not be available to retired pensioners who receive a monthly pension exceeding Rs 10,000.
The scheme does not apply to farmers or their families who have paid income tax during the previous assessment year.
